Recent Villa Florence Larkspur Review: "I was traveling for business and looking for a hotel close my conference (in the Union Square area), but cheaper and with more character than the conference hotel. I like boutique hotels in general, and this would qualify as such. Basically, I was searching for a hotel in a very specific area, with more than 3 stars and below a certain rate. This was  one of only a few to meet that criteria. I was not disappointed. Hotel service was outstanding. When I was trying to check in for my departing flight on one of the hotel's computers and my boarding pass wouldn't print, I received prompt assistance. I needed my bags held for the whole day after I checked out, and this was not a problem at all. I needed transportation to the airport at 5 p.m. on a weekday so as not to miss my flight home, and the hotel presented all of my options, from a cab, to BART, to a ride-share arrangement, to a private car. I choose the private car service, which the hotel handled for me, and it was wonderful. I love this neighborhood. I see some complaints on here about noise. My room did face Powell Street, and it is a busy street. But I would expect some noise in this location. To sleep, I just put the air conditioner fan on and it drowned out the noise very well. I slept like a baby, and I don't normally sleep well away from home. There's a funky bar next door that has live music (and I was able to catch the end of a baseball game on the TVs there as well). My only two negative commetns would be that I thought the top of the white down comforter was a little dirty a€” it wasn't bad at all, and with a white comforter I think some marks are to be expected, but I just think it was due for a wash, that's all. And, I didn't get a chance to eat in the restaurant a€” but I did order a continental breakfast room service that was pretty disappointing. Otherwise, the room was very clean a€” small, but clean and comfortable. The lobby is large and attractive, and offered free lemonade in the afternoon. I sa"
