Recent Serrano Kimpton Review: "I was struck by the "Good Will" of all employees, from the reception desk to the bell hops and maintenance staff. I overheard one of the bell men comforting a tearful 8-yr old who had been locked out of her room by her brother. The gentlemen was very reassuring and immediately set to restoring the child to her family. In all ways he acted entirely appropriate. The child's mother soon appeared. On another occasion the workout room was a freezing, 60*F. After calling the front desk, a maintenance man promptly arrived to raise the temperature. The front desk also addressed our needs including answering questions about the safety of two women walking to restaurants, etc. after dark. They suggested the directions that were most safe and not to walk alone after dark. They told us where to find the Cable car ticket office, provided us with a visitors guide with street maps and told us where to find a nearby Indian restaurant. One of the bellman secured for us an $8 limo to the nearby Orphium Theater for the production of "Wicket". We gladly arranged with the driver to pick us up after the production, as well. On the streets, panhandlers and street people will ask you for money. The hotel staff helped us to be less vulnerable. We had a lovely visit."
