Recent Motel Capri Review: "Great motel! Motel Capri (MC) is a small motel in a very quiet residential area just south of the Marina District and just a mile west of Fisherman's Wharf. The only noise we heard were other guests walking to/from their rooms and no homeless people in sight. MC had climate control for the heater (which we did use 1 night even though it was mid-July),  but not for a/c. There was a window in the bathroom & we were on the second floor, so we just left that open the 2nd night when the room was warmer and outside was very cool. Our room didn't have microwave/frig/iron, etc, but I knew that going in. 2 nights without that was just fine because we paid 1/3 to 1/2 of what most of the other hotels were charging. If staying longer, I might request a room with those amenities. The Fisherman's Wharf was an easy walk and the only time we took a cab was to go down to the Orpheum & it cost us less than $10. The room was pretty small, but comfortable and clean, which was all we needed for a 2 night stay for 2 people who weren't in the room much anyway. You can tell MC is old, but it's been renovated. There was a bodega close in case we needed anything. There were bus stops close, but we never needed them because we didn't stay long enough to see everything. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to be close to downtown and in a safer neighborhood. Especially if you want to forfeit a frig, etc, for a cheaper price!"
