Recent Le Meridien Review: "I was extremely impressed with this hotel. Despite being in the heart of downtown near a busy tourist area in SF, I was able to book a last minute one night stay as a little romantic getaway, and got a very good rate. For the class and quality of the hotel, their rate was definitely below competing "big brand" properties nearby.
The room was large (for a big city hotel), and had an unusual design with a little entry alcove that made it seem more private. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, and the sheets, towels and other materials were all high quality. Despite not paying extra for a SF Bay view, we were given a room with one anyway -- a nice upgrade! The bathroom was large; comfortable for two people to be in at the same time. Everything was immaculately clean, as one would expect at this level.
Staff was friendly and efficient, without being officious or over the top. I did not have reason to use the concierge, but there were two of them at a front-desk like counter, out in the open. I liked that -- too often in fancy hotels the concierge is hidden away or constantly missing from their desk or area.
I can without hesitation recommend this hotel. The location is ideal (a couple blocks away from public transit, and from the Embarcadero) although like most downtown/financial districts, it's a little dead at night and on weekends."

| A short guide to Financial District - Ferry Building |
|
The bulls and bears of industry tread the streets of the Financial District, home to the city’s tallest buildings, including the iconic Transmerica Pyramid. The towers give way to The Embarcadero, the broad, palm-lined avenue that begins at the San Francisco Giant’s AT&T Park and ends at Fisherman’s Wharf. The road passes by the Ferry Building, a landmark transformed into an artisanal food market.
