Recent Huntington Hotel Review: "My wife and I had booked this hotel for a short San Francisco trip for Memorial Day. I was excited to finally see the hotel for I had read good things about it on the web as well as heard good things from co-workers who lived in the area. The experience did not disappoint. The location was GREAT! This hotel is nestled in beautiful Nob Hill just across from Grace Cathedral (a beauty in its own right) away from the crowds at Market Street and the Wharf; yet because of its close proximity to the intersection of the California and Powell cable car lines (3 downhill blocks away), just about everything was within easy reach. The staff was WONDERFUL! The doormen and housekeeping folks were very friendly and helpful. The front office staff though busy were both efficient and attentive. The room was AMAZING! Though we had reserved the Superior Room, we were upgraded without even asking. Besides being spacious and luxurious (more on that later), it has a great view of the city; and the heating/cooling unit worked perfectly (it hovered around the high 50s during our trip). The living and dining areas (room for 6) were well-appointed and very comfortable; and the kitchenette was a nice additional (for our Chinatown leftovers!). There was marble throughout the entryway and bathroom which itself had great lines and an ever better shower area (the showerhead was great). Lots of closet space revealed plus robes (which my wife fell in love with). The real kicker was the bedroom. The bed and its pillows were just heaven. Neither my wife nor I sleep well away from our home; but we both slept perfectly during our stay. The bed and pillows were ultra-plush yet provided just the right amount of resistance to not throw your back out of alignment. The food (room service) was SCRUMPTIOUS! We had eaten both a dinner and breakfast at the hotel using room service; and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend the honey ham and gruyere (very subtle on the palate, but satisfying).     The Huntington Hotel stands 12-stories tall in the Nob Hill area of San Francisco, Calif. Built in 1924, the hotel is adjacent to downtown San Francisco. Chinatown and the Financial District are four blocks from the property. The San Francisco Convention Center, the Moscone Center and North Beach are located one mile from the hotel.
