Recent Hayes Valley Inn Review: "The Hayes Valley Inn must have been built at the end of the 19th century. It is very well maintained and has the original layout: rooms with bed, sink and and dresser in each; two WCs and a bath, all in separate rooms, down the hall. You have to be able to climb a flight of stairs to get in and out. It's walking distance from a lot of good restaurants and the opera, symphony, etc. There's an African import shop around the corner. I wish we'd had time to explore the neighborhood. However there can be a lot of noise outside at night. The staff are really helpful, although only some of them are well-informed. The adjacent parking lot (Tower Valet Parking) has a lower rate for hotel guests. It's gay and every other kind of queer friendly. We stayed only one night but would stay longer if we needed to be in SF overnight longer."
