Recent Harbor Court Kimpton Review: "I've stayed in a few hotels in SF and the one thing they all have in common: they're all painted turds. You almost can't blame them; they were all built a hundred years ago and are mostly held together by the countless layers of chipping paint. The only competition is which hotel is closer to the event you're ACTUALLY in town for.
Harbor Court Hotel, on the other hand, was much better than I was expecting. Everything about it was just... nice. We coughed up the extra cash to get a bay view room, which was very much worth it in my opinion as the view was beautiful. The windows weren't just double pane - they're actually double windows, so sound wasn't a problem at all. The hotel was nice, clean, the bed was actually comfortable, and despite being a tad small (which is inevitable for the city) you feel like you're really getting your money's worth.
Well, almost: it sure would have been a lot harder to swallow the outrageous parking/valet fee without the complimentary glasses of wine upon arrival ;). It turns out the rates I saw on their site were only for hybrid vehicles; normal gas guzzlers were significantly extra.
They apparently also have complimentary bikes you can take out to get around or tour on, but we didn't have time to take advantage of that. Since the hotel is right across from the ferry building, and a 15 minute walk to Pier 39, there was plenty to do without needing wheels.
So yes, much better than I was expecting and well worth your patronage."

| A short guide to Financial District - Ferry Building |
|
The bulls and bears of industry tread the streets of the Financial District, home to the city’s tallest buildings, including the iconic Transmerica Pyramid. The towers give way to The Embarcadero, the broad, palm-lined avenue that begins at the San Francisco Giant’s AT&T Park and ends at Fisherman’s Wharf. The road passes by the Ferry Building, a landmark transformed into an artisanal food market.
