Recent Grant Hotel Review: "This is a very nice hotel in a very convenient location 1/2 block from the cable cars that will take you all the way to Fishermans Wharf, just one block from Union Square, and right across the street is a rental car facility for one day road trips to Muir Woods, Sausalito, wine country or whatever you desire -- no need to pay $20/day for parking! Service was great, very nice, helpful and friendly staff available 24/7. After 11 pm the main entrance to the hotel is locked and is accessible with your room card key for added security. Our room was newly renovated with new paint, carpet, flat screen TV and a completely new bathroom - gorgeous! The bed was firm and comfortable. Free coffee and pastries in the morning, and free internet access in the lobby. Added bonus for senior travelers and those with heavy luggage is there is a handicap accessible door and ramp with an automatic door opener. There wasn't a view from our room but that wasn't important to us as we were always out seeing the sights anyway. Overall we were very pleased with our stay, would stay here again, and would highly recommend the Grant Hotel to others. You can't find a nicer, more convenient and comfortable renovated hotel in the Union Square area for the prices they are charging."
