Recent Galleria Park Joie De Review: "I have never stayed in the Union Square area, but I thought my husband & I would have fun. We were so close to Chinatown, and my husband had never been there, so I thought it would be great. The place was a little hard to get to because of the cramped, busy streets and we had trouble finding the garage to park in. Once we got into our room, we were very impressed on how beautifully it was decorated, considering that it was an older hotel. My husband thought the bed and sheets were so comfortable that he wanted to buy them. There was not an ice machine on every floor, so we had to venture to another floor for that. The stuff in the mini bar was extremely expensive. There was a robe in the closet, but only one. We didn't like the idea that there was no fan in the bathroom - it made the room quite humid. One thing nobody tells you, is that most of the stores & restaurants in the union square area close very early in the evening because they mostly serve the businesses and offices in that area. One night, we had eaten out for breakfast & lunch, but just wanted something quick for dinner. Most of the places were closed, & the one sandwich shop that was open, was just about to close & was out of a lot of items from the menu. If you stay there, go to another neighborhood for dinner, or have a lighter lunch in the area & dinner somewhere else. I would definitely stay in this hotel again. The service was great & one of the guys at the front desk was from the area we live in (in Indiana)- small world, nice guy!!"
