Recent Crescent San Francisco Review: "Couldn't have asked for a better hotel for the budget we were on. We wanted to stay in the center of SF to be close to everything and at the same time get a room that was somewhat affordable. The hotel is about a block from Union Square and there are bus lines that can get you anywhere you need to go. The staff was extremely helpful and the hotel was  very clean overall. This was our 1st time at this hotel and we were very satisfied. Apparently, they renovated the hotel a year and a half ago and it looks very modern chic. The lobby is spacious and nice, there is a bar/lounge on the 2nd floor if you want to hang out without having to leave the hotel, and there is free wifi service. The only complaint I had (reason I only gave 4 of 5 rating under 'Condition and maintenance of hotel') was that we had problems with the toilet. Not sure if it's a plumbing problem in the whole building or just our room, but the toilet got backed twice a we had to call the staff to have someone fix the problem. The issue was resolved in a timely matter both times, but it was still a little annoying to have to go through all of that. Overall, I recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again whenever I come back to the City."
