Recent Best Western Americania Review: "I read a few reviews just before heading out on our trip and frankly was a bit nervous after reading them. Altough the area did have its fair share of homeless people, it is downtown SF afterall! They were perfectly harmless and we never felt threatened when walking with 3 children to Union Square in the evening. The hotel itself was completely charming with its 60's vintage atmosphere and decor. It was light, bright, clean, and extremely well maintained. It was SO cute! Even though it was December the rooftop pool was well heated and inviting, the workout facility had new equipment (with TV's on the treadmill and bike), and the courtyards were beautiful with water features, seating all around, etc. There was even a game room with board games, and fireplace for families to have game night! We also took advantage of the cute lounge for happy hour. I dare anyone to beat this hotel for anywhere near the price! It was a steal! I would definiltely go there again in a heartbeat... any I am not easy to please... trust me."
