Recent Beresford Arms Hotel Review: "This hotel exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. It is a historic hotel, i.e. very, very old, but still well maintained. The room was huge and included a fully stocked mini-fridge, microwave, sink, full set of china with silverware, and a coffee maker. The bathroom had double sinks, a large Jacuzzi bathtub, and a bidet. The television was  an old tube TV, but we only watched the news in the morning while getting ready to go out for the day. It is located only six blocks from BART, so we did not even rent a car while we stayed here. Fishermana€™s Wharf is less than two miles away, which was about $8.00 in cab fare. All in all, this was a great hotel. My wife and I treat hotel rooms as nothing more than a place to rest our heads for a few hours because we are not there to lounge around our hotel room, we are there to see the city. If you are looking for a high end luxury hotel with all of the modern day features, then stay somewhere else. If you are looking for a clean room with friendly staff and an amazing FREE happy hour, then this is your place to stay. Also, you must visit Alcatraz Island if you have never seen it before. But BEWARE of online scams. Only book through the Alcatraz Island Official Ticket Site because they are the only company allowed to dock on the island. The other a€śtoursa€ť only circle the island on a boat, while the Official Tickets Site actually allows you to dock on the island and wander around for hours. I am unable to post websites on reviews, but if you Google a€śAlcatraz toursa€ť, click on the link that shows up as a€śAlcatraz Island a€“ Official Tickets Sitea€ť, and their domain name contains the word a€ścruisesa€ť in it. Enjoy."
