| Yes the hotel is older, no we didn't have a coffee maker or iron and one of the towels was a slightly different color. But, the hotel had style. The interior (light well) room that we had with two large windows gave light and privacy. Probably not the best hotel for traveling with kids (although there was a tv), it was perfect for our night out on the town, all we really wanted was a clean restful place to stay - and it was exactly that. |

| Went to see the San Fran sites. And watch a game. This Hotel exceeded my expectations. The room (the bed exspecialy) was so comfortable. Some of the best sleep I've had. I was realy surprised.. I have already told some people that plan on heading to the bay area about the place.. It was perfect.. |

| This is a very very very basic, no frills hotel. Just a place to crash, that is it!! Do not expect any amenities, the only good thing about the hotel is the location. |

| The hotel is located on the same corner as the gate to China is. Good access to trolley cars and downtown district. |

| The hotels best point was its location to union square and china town. At first we were put off by the abrupt phone manner of some of the staff when we tried to arrange a fridge for the room and a late check in, but in reality they were very friendly and happy to help. The lay out was simple, clean, spacious and basic. My only concern was the towels which were delivered clean every day but produced excessive amounts of lint/fluff. If i returned to San Francisco i would happily stay at the Astoria again. |

| Hotel situated at entrance to chinatown area. The noise levels after 8:00pm are substantially reduced-makes a perfect location for people wanting to get away from the noise levels found around Union Square, even though it is only 3 blocks from the shopping district. The rooms do not have air-conditioning, but most have private bathrooms. In San Francisco (other than in Late August-Early September, air-conditioning isn't really a factor as temperatures usually don't get above 75 degrees. That temperature can be a little warm though without air movement, but opening the windows usually provides adequate air. Restaurants are within walking distance and shopping is everywhere. Located just 5 blocks from the BART station at Montgomery & Market Streets. |
