Recent Alexis Park Review: "Upon my arrival I was greeted by the wife of a husband-wife team. She was polite, and I was struck by how her gray eyes complimented her Indian complexion. I went to dinner by myself (moderately attractive woman) in the financial district, and walked all the way back to the hotel slightly tipsy around 9p. A gentleman told me I have a nice smile, thanks!) I've never been hassled by the San Francisco indigent, and my stay this time was no exception. If I knew what my secret is, I'd share. Like getting good service in restaurants, it probably has to do with patient kindness. I picked-up a complimentary razor (nice to not have to buy one; they were out of shaving cream). As far as the room goes, it was clean. The decor was modern and nicer than some named hotels that cost twice as much. If you want the stone work and artistic design of the Four Seasons, ante-up. Ice is a quarter (probably because it is outside/unrestricted), and the pillows were quite firm. The neighborhood definitely perks-up in the wee-morning hours, so next time I'd bring earplugs. There were lively social interactions happening on the street, at one point, punctuated by gunshots and an ambulance a short time later. Checked the police beat the next day and couldn't find a report. The rain and daylight cleared the streets of the previous night's excitements by the time I got-up around 6. I checked out at 9, and left my bags with the husband. I didn't have cash, so I paid the $12 ($6 each) when I picked them up at the end of the day. I got everything I wanted: proximity, cleanliness, and I felt safe. This place is a bargain that I'd recommend to my friends and family."
