Recent Adagio De Vivre Boutique Review: "Hotel Adagio surpassed all of our expectations! The Hotel is located only two blocks from Union Square in a street which is much more interesting and quiet than the Powell and Market area. When looking at it from Google street view we were afraid it would be in the sketchy part of the Tenderloin, it turns out this area and the surrounding areas were  far nicer, and with fewer panhandlers than Powell/Market. Adagio is surrounded by excellent independant restaurants such as Dottie's, Farm Table, Taqueria El Sol, and several Thai restaurants most of which are open late. The Hotel is away from the Trolley lines as well so you won't hear the clanging of the tracks and bells. The rooms are outfitted with inner and outer modern windows, extra soundproofing between units air conditioners and a ceiling fan to keep you cool. The Building was built in 1928 but it looks like it was recently gutted and entirely renovated into a modern hotel. The lobby is outfitted with new and comfortable furnishings. Lemon water is provided in the afternoons and hot tea in the evenings. The elevators are a bit small but modern and very fast. The rooms are a comfortable size with everything you need including free wifi, a TV, Internet connection, AC, hair dryer, umbrella, iron and ironing board. The beds seem fairly new and are quite comfortable. Their is a bar across the street which is a bit noisy, but the double windows block almost all of the sound. The price is far cheaper than comparable hotels such as the Hilton, Parc 55, or hotel Nikko, and you probably end up with better service here. I am definitely going to stay at Hotel Adagio every time I come to San Francisco."
