Recent San Francisco Marriott Review: "The staff was wonderful and very excited about their transformation this week into a new Marriott. Of course, I took advantage of a great "pre-opening" rate and even at a full Marriott rate would highly recommend. Hotel is in the very best location. Sears Fine Dining (breakfast is famous...dinner was wonderful and peaceful) and Lori's Diner offered good food at moderate prices. Walgreens catty-corner was a convenience for essentials such as Diet Cokes (Pepsi is served in machines at hotel...horrors!) UPS is just a block away for sending home all those many purchases. Cable car buzzes right by. Perfect...I had the smallest room (according to floorplan on door) and it was very roomy. My bathroom vanity was only 19" wide so that was a creative endeavor in the mornings, but it was a cute and efficient vanity. If this bothers you, ask for a room with a larger vanity than #2120. I asked for a higher floor with a view...so this is what I received and was very happy. Larger rooms seems to face Union Square front side of building with large corner rooms, according to the floorplan.
The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Yes, I've stayed in all the "boutique" hotels but this was personable without feeling like you were in someone elses home. Great lighting in the rooms. Complimentary fridge was brought to the room when I asked at desk."
