Recent Larkspur Review: "my 17 year old daughter and i stayed here for one night during our recent trip to San Francisco. the hotel was conveniently located near Powell Street, and thussly very convenient in terms of proximity to the cable car line that provides easy access to the Union Square shopping district. the staff was very courteous and helpful in every imaginable way. The room might be considered small by some persons, but this was not an issue with me--i found it to be quite charming and very nicely decorated. the bathroom was very clean and well maintained; however not practical for more than one person a time to use ( no double sinks or seperate sink/dressing area ), but then again this is a circa 1913 hotel..... the lobby and library were elegantly decorated. the breakfast buffet was adequate,but nearly identical to what was available at our other stops on our trip. my daughter had a much more difficult time than did i--she found the room a little scary due to its location at the end of a long hallway and the noise of the city below us (we were on the 7th floor). I loved it and would recommend it to adults. one caveat that i do have is in regard to the parking--there is none available at the hotel itself. the parking is contracted out with a parking garage one block over ---could be an issue if one is arriving in the wee hours of the morning. this may also be true of other hotels in the area as well, just something to keep in mind when making any hotel reservation in the city. the cost of the parking was approx $30.00, which was good for 24 hrs."
