As the city's central business district, this area caters
mostly to business travelers. If you're not in San Francisco on some kind of business, we suggest you consider staying in one of the other neighborhoods.
Apart from
offices, you’ll find restaurants, gourmet shops and – a few days a week – a
farmers’ market featuring local produce inside the original "Ferry Building". This refurbished market center is a must-see!
Many
corporations are headquartered here, such as Visa, Wells Fargo Bank,
Union Bank of California and Salesforce.com. The Transamerica Pyramid
is located in the Financial District.
Walk east and you’ll hit the
Embarcadero -- a waterfront park that extends from the AT&T Baseball park all the way up to Fisherman's Wharf. Bring comfortable shoes and soak up the gorgeous scenery and views of Bay Bridge.
